VANCOUVER, Canada - 'Chemtrails' is the term widely used to describe the brilliant white trails laid down by U.S. Air Force tanker planes photo-identified over North America and a dozen other allied nations in a process the U.S. Air Force calls 'aerial obscuration'.

Chemtrails are a serious health and environmental concern because they evidently contain aluminum and barium. Aluminum is a highly toxic metal that has been associated with a host of illnesses, including Alzheimer's disease. Barium is radioactive.

Though some maintain that chemtrails are part of a governmental attempt to slow down the greenhouse effect, the longer-term ramifications of significant pollution may not have been addressed by adequate scientific study and public debate.
